Maimonides’ Ladder of Charity, prominently displayed on our father’s refrigerator door, illustrated eight levels of giving, from giving begrudgingly to giving anonymously and without being asked. This simple yet profound display was a daily testament to the values he cherished. Our father consistently aspired to reach the highest rungs of this ladder, generously and often anonymously, offering his time and resources. His support extended to Jewish organizations locally, nationally, and internationally, and his unwavering commitment to helping others continued robustly into his 90s. His contributions to the Jewish Community Foundation were a natural extension of his lifelong dedication to tikkun olam (repairing the world) and tzedakah (charity). Our family is truly privileged to have had such a generous role model to emulate.
