Bill and Doris Mendel

We were asked why we chose at this time to include the synagogue in our estate plan. It is a legitimate question because we have (hopefully) a good thirty or forty years before it becomes relevant! However, we think it is vital that our generation reaches out and supports the Jewish community, and this was the perfect way to do it. At this point in our lives, we are on the receiving end, participating weekly in religious education, programs, services and life cycle events. We also have less discretionary income available to provide additional financial support, which fortunately is provided by the legacies of previous generations. It is our turn to make the commitment – L’dor v’dor. This is our chance to create a legacy to support future generations in this community and hopefully to ensure its growth. By making this commitment now, our goal is to enable current Jewish leadership to plan the future with greater certainty.
