Dan Scharf

My wife Miriam and I moved to Kansas City in 1977 with our family not knowing a soul. That did not last long. We were embraced and accepted by the Jewish Community and we have built a wonderful life here thanks to this community.  Both my wife and I have served on the boards of many Jewish communal organizations and have witnessed firsthand the important work that they do. We are proud to be part of this community and feel it is essential to continue to support those organizations now and long after we are gone. They are the lifeblood of our community which is why we both have chosen to endow our gifts. Jews have a deeply rooted responsibility to care one for the other and we have chosen to continue that tradition which has been passed down to us from our parents, grandparents and the generations which came before them.
