We have grown up in our personal and professional lives with a focus on community and have felt more complete when involved with organizations that make a difference on the ground in the lives of all types of people. We were encouraged in this activity both by our families and by the good fortune of having mentors such as Ed and Beth Smith and Sue Ellen and Harvey Fried who set such stellar examples of making a difference in the general and Jewish communities wherever possible. We are pleased to be able to leave a legacy of giving and some tangible resources so that hopefully, at least in a modest way, we can be examples for our children and provide a bit of treasure to agencies and programs we personally have come to treasure.
