Julius and Dorothy Peltzman

Our parents, Julius and Dorothy Peltzman, left behind an incredible legacy that is present in our lives and the lives of our children and grandchildren. Family, Judaism, and education ranked very high among their core values. In fact, one of Dorothy’s mantras for her children and grandchildren was “save that money for your education.”

While we were too old to attend Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy, our father was a strong supporter of the school. When he passed away, we discovered he had regularly donated money to HBHA. At that point, our mother decided to honor him, and their passion for Jewish education, by creating the Julius Peltzman Scholarship Fund. It became her life’s work: For nearly 40 years, she proudly continued the philanthropic work of our father.

Today, we are honored to expand the fund in memory of both of our parents. The Julius and Dorothy Peltzman Scholarship Fund for Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy students ensures our parents’ legacy will continue for generations to come. We are proud to carry on our parents’ tradition of Jewish philanthropy, passing our love of community down to our children and grandchildren. The Jewish Community Foundation has been a trusted partner in facilitating the process of establishing a fund.
